1. BEE Ratings
BEE rating is an independent audit process aimed at verifying and validating the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) status of a legal entity. It is the most accurate, independent, and cost-effective way for business to establish and present their BEE levels.

Engagement – This step covers the need to provide the client with comprehensive information on the verification process, and other related information so that the clients can make well a well-informed decision regarding verification. Obtain verification agreement from WHITESTREAM BBBEE AGENCY's administrator, complete and return it with 50% proof of payment.

Preparation (Telephonic or onsite) – To ensure that a client is properly prepared for the actual verification. A preparatory session will be arranged to help the client understand the scorecard and all the information required for the audit. This can be done telephonic or onsite. It must be noted that the client’s needs dictate the process so WHITESTREAM BBBEE AGENCY will by all means try to meet each client’s needs. Client preparation including pre-site booking should not take longer than fourteen working days from the date of receiving engagement documents.

Site Visit- Upon readiness of the client, a site visit will be set up and WHITESTREAM BBBEE AGENCY analyst will be allocated to do verification at the client’s premises of BEE claim made by the client. This includes but not limited to sampling monetary claims, shareholders, directors, and staff interviews. A site visit normally takes one day unless if multi-sites are required.

Review of report – Within 48 hours after the site visit an analyst will submit the file to the review committee to check the inter alia: if the WHITESTREAM BBBEE AGENCY processes were followed in conducting the verification, correct application of the applicable scorecards/charter, if sufficient evidence was obtained and the accuracy of the calculations. The review process should not take longer than ten working days for a single entity. Consolidated verification should not take longer than twenty-one working days from the date of the onsite visit.

Communication of review outcome – Within one day of making the verification decision WHITESTREAM BBBEE AGENCY will communicate the review outcome to the client. This will be in a form of a formal email or issuing of a preliminary report to allow the client accepts or appeal the outcome.

Issuing of final report and certificate – If the client is happy with step 6 above, then the final report and certificate will be issued within three working days. If there is an appeal, it should be finalized within thirty working days. A soft copy will be emailed, and the hardcopy couriered to client premises within seven working days.

Impartiality Policy – Impartiality is the fundamental of effective and consistent BEE verification. WHITESTREAM BBBEE AGENCY therefore adopts a policy that ensures impartiality in all of the company’s activities and relationships. This policy compels WHITESTREAM BBBEE AGENCY ’s directors, managers and staff to undertake their company associated responsibilities with diligence, accuracy and professionalism; and that they comply with the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and fairness. Any person representing the company in any capacity must avoid ethical, legal, financial, or any other actual or apparent conflicts of interest and ensure that their personal activities and interests do not conflict with their obligations to the company, its stakeholders or its welfare in general. WHITESTREAM BBBEE AGENCY is furthermore committed to identifying, managing and resolving any threats to impartiality that may arise from its activities.

Appeal of verification decision – The Verified Entity has the opportunity to appeal the findings in their report. This can be done within 14 days of receiving the preliminary Verification Report. The appeal needs to be in writing, addressed to the Verifications Manager in charge, and will be resolved or addressed, as per the company policy on appeals, within 30 days of receipt. An appeal process is a review of already available evidence and not new evidence, the intention is that the person appealing against a score and that another person would reach another decision with the same set of evidence

Complaints: – The Verified Entity has the opportunity to complain about any aspect of service delivery. This may be done at any stage during the verifications process, and the complaint needs to be in writing, addressed to Admin/Manager, Complaints. WHITESTREAM BBBEE AGENCY will endeavour to resolve all complaints within a reasonable time as per the company policy on complaints, which is no later than within 30 days of receipt.
2. B-BBEE Training and Development-WHITESTREAM BBBEE AGENCY offer Training and Development sessions to assist companies in understanding all aspects of B-BBEE Codes.
3. Ownership Analysis- Independent assessment of company’s ownership structure in terms of verifying the ultimate black shareholding and ascertaining if the ownership structure complies with the requirements of the Codes of Good Practice. This can be done before the new ownership structure is entered into or even if it has been done but the company wants this done for whatever reasons.
4. Collation of Documents and Information- The collation of evidence that supports your BBBEE score is essential, since the rating process is based on the evidence submitted.
